Abstract
In the practical application of moiré tomography, the intelligent identification of effective moiré fringe areas is a crucial step. This paper addresses the cumbersome and inaccurate process of manually determining effective regions by proposing a method for intelligent identification of effective moiré fringe regions. First, the moiré fringes are preprocessed using a combination of the Otsu algorithm and mathematical morphology; then, the intensity difference images of straight and curved fringes with and without the measured flow field are obtained; finally, the coordinates of the effective areas are determined based on Gaussian fitting. To verify the feasibility and versatility of this method, it is applied to moiré fringes with different flow field structures, contrasts, and fringe widths, successfully achieving automatic and accurate extraction of the effective moiré fringe areas. In summary, this method significantly simplifies the algorithm structure, achieving precise and reliable identification of effective moiré fringe regions with lower computational costs.
