1 116 nm pre-biased electro-optic Q-switched pulsed laser based on frequency selection and spectral filtering

    • The 1116 nm pulsed laser beam with high peak power and stability has broad applications in nonlinear optical frequency conversion, atmospheric detection, and biomedical fields. In this work, a 1116 nm pulsed laser was developed based on an 808 nm pulsed laser diode (LD) side-pumped Nd:YAG crystal. By combining the selective frequency and spectral filtering of Brewster plate (BP) and birefringent crystal (BC) with transversely pressurized electro-optic Q-switching using a pre-biased MgO:LN crystal, high peak power and stable output of 1116 nm laser were achieved. As the pulse repetition frequency increased from 100 Hz to 1.0 kHz, the average power increased from 1.634 W to 9.587 W, the pulse width broadened slightly from 5.17 ns to 6.44 ns, and the peak power decreased from 3.161 MW to 1.489 MW. The peak-to-peak instability of single-pulse energy and pulse width remained within low ranges of (±0.25% to ±0.88%) and (±0.65% to ±1.97%), respectively.
