Wide band polarization maintaining fiber coupler

  • 摘要: 保偏光纤耦合器在军事领域和民用市场应用广泛,但是常规保偏光纤耦合器的带宽较窄,不可能完全满足多种光源的使用要求。为了达到更多用户的使用要求,需要研制一种宽带保偏光纤耦合器。根据熔融拉锥型宽带光纤耦合器的原理和光纤电磁理论,对熔融拉锥的工艺进行了改进,结合多年的保偏光纤耦合器的制造经验,并根据试验事实,实现了常规熔融拉锥型宽带保偏光纤耦合器的制作,对产品进行了测试,带宽参数能够满足多种光源的使用要求,完成了预期研究目标。
    Abstract: Polarization-maintaining fiber coupler(PMC)is widely used in military and commercial applications.However,the bandwidth of the ordinary PMC is very narrow and it could meet the requirements of the various light sources.To solve this problem,a broadband PMC shall be developed.Based on the electromagnetic theory of fibers and the principles of the fused bi-conical taper polarization-maintaining fiber couplers(FBTPMC),the tapefused process was improved.The fabrication of improved FBTPMC was realized based on years of production experience and experimental results.Meanwhile, the measurement results show that the bandwidth parameters of the products could meet the requirements of various light sources.
