基于标准具选模的单纵模声光调Q Nd:YVO4激光器

Single-longitudinal-mode acousto-optic Q-switched Nd: YVO4 laser using Fabry-Perot etalon

  • 摘要: 单纵模激光器具有输出光束质量好、光谱线宽窄、频率稳定、结构紧凑等优点,在相干光通信、激光雷达、非线性光学、引力波探测和高精度光谱测量等领域有广泛的应用。本研究基于短腔方案,结合标准具选模方法,设计了腔长为90 mm的激光二极管单端泵浦单纵模声光调Q Nd:YVO4激光器。通过对腔内纵模模式进行理论分析,选择插入一个厚度为5 mm,反射率为90%的法布里-珀罗标准具,实现了重复频率1 Hz~10 Hz可调、脉冲宽度为10 ns、单脉冲能量为133 μJ、能量不稳定性为3.39%的单纵模激光输出。通过对输出的单纵模激光进行两级放大,获得了40 mJ的单脉冲能量输出。

     

    Abstract: Single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) lasers, characterized by their superior output laser beam quality, narrow linewidth, stable frequency, compact size, and efficient heat dissipation, find extensive applications in coherent optical communication, lidar, nonlinear optics, gravitational wave detection, and high-precision spectral measurement. In this study, we employed a short cavity scheme in conjunction with Fabry-Perot etalon mode selection, and carried out a theoretical analysis of the longitudinal mode within the cavity. Our design involves a laser diode single end-pumped acousto-optic Q-switched Nd: YVO4 laser with a cavity length of 90 mm, into which a 5 mm Fabry-Perot etalon with a reflectivity of 90% is inserted. This setup yielded a SLM laser output with an adjustable repetition frequency of 1 Hz~10 Hz, a pulse duration of 10 ns, an energy of 133 μJ, and an energy instability of 3.39%. The output SLM laser was further amplified by two stages, resulting in a single pulse energy of 40 mJ.
